Kinmaran Chronicles: No Good Deed OUT NOW!

It's been a long wait, but, at last Brackenbelly 4 is OUT.

It's taken so long because I've worked really hard on this story, and Ween's Night (even though I wrote it in 3 days!) and I hope that you find it the best in the series so far.

I'm finding that I'm spending more and more time doing things like this video to promote Brackenbelly.  What I really need is your help.  If you enjoy reading Brackenbelly, please tell your friends, write a review.

Next year Brackenbelly is getting a face lift (see the end of the video).

I would like to do another interview.  If you have a question you would like to ask me, please write one in the comments below.

Now, sit back, relax and watch the video.

Geese and Ballet

I don't know about you guys, but I've had an awesome couple of days!

Last night I went to the famous Nottingham Goose Fair. I've been going for the last ten years, ever since I moved up here.  I'll be honest, I'm not a big fan of the rides but there's something special about it's atmosphere.

Part of it is the history.  The fair's been going for hundreds of years.  It has the world's oldest movable helter skelter.  It's also the largest fair in the world (or so I was told).

So far we have only seen how humans celebrate on Kinmara. How do uma have a good time? We already know the uma are great inventors.  Perhaps they have built fairground rides. What do you think?

This afternoon I went to the ballet with some children from my school.  It was amazing.  I LOVE stories and a ballet isn't just dancing, it's telling a story through dance.  Soon you will find out that the warriors' guild isn't the only guild the uma have.  There's an entertainers' too.  I wonder if they tell stories through dance?

Everywhere I go I see things that'll help me tell great stories and bring Kinmara alive.

Warwick Castle

It's near the end of the summer holiday, but that's not why I'm roaring in the photograph.

Yesterday I went to Warwick castle to celebrate someone's birthday.  That's not why I'm screaming either.  I quite like them really.

If you look  carefully you'll see a man in a red tunic and green trousers.  Do you know who/what he is?  The shield I'm holding might give you a clue too.  Leave a comment if you think you know the answer.

As well as giving a warrior roar, I, and two other "volunteers", had to create a "shield wall" to prove that we could stop three other men from pushing us backwards.

By overlapping the three shields, and using our arms and shoulders, we could hold them back.  Could we do the same with a hoard of children?  It wasn't easy, but we just about managed it.

Anyway, I hope that you've enjoyed your holiday.  I have.  I've seen some amazing things and, most of all, had a good rest.

Over the summer I've had lots of ideas bubbling away in my head and hopefully you should have them in your hands by Christmas.

Be safe, but have adventures.

Gareth

BTW the roaring was a competition and I won!!!

Exciting News

Here's some exciting news!

The last (for now) Brackenbelly adventure will be edited soon and ready for your to enjoy by the end of September.

Yesterday, I started writing the next Kinmaran Chronicle.  It has a whole new setting and brand new characters.  I hope that you're as excited about it as I am.

We're going to be discovering lots of new things.  We'll be going to the uma capital and finding out all about their culture.  So far Brackenbelly has only given hints and snippets.  Imagine a whole story about them. Brackenbelly has already shown us his illumi-moss, well, we'll be discovering some more types of moss as well as other clever uma inventions.  We know that Brackenbelly is in the Warriors' Guild.  There are seven more.

I hope these sneak peeks have got you excited.

Hope to speak to you soon.

New Beginning

This is the beginning of a new blog.  At the moment I am still putting it all together, but hopefully you'll see lots of exciting, new stuff soon.

Just back from my holiday in Pafos, Cyprus.  Here's me in a 2000 year old tomb.
